Tired of the same old meat, try a new seasoning, here are a couple of our favourites
Barbecue Rub, Jerk Seasoning, Cajun Seasoning,and Taco Seasoning
Barbecue Rub
1/4 c Splenda
1 tbsp seasoning salt
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp celery salt
1 tbsp onion powder
2 tbsp paprika
1 tbsp chili powder
2 tsp pepper
1 tsp lemon pepper
1 tsp sage
1 tsp dry mustard
1/2 tsp dried thyme
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
Jerk Seasoning
1 tbsp onion flakes
2 tsp ground thyme
1 tsp ground allspice
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tbsp onion powder
2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
2 tbsp Splenda
Cajun Seasoning
2 1/2 tbsp paprika
2 tbsp salt
2 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp black pepper
1 tbsp onion powder
1 tbsp cayenne pepper
1 tbsp dried oregano
1 tbsp dried thyme
Taco Seasoning
2 tbsp chili powder
1 1/2 tbsp cumin
1 1/2 tsp paprika
1 tbsp onion powder
1 tbsp garlic powder
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper (mild) or 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (hotter)
Barbecue Rub
Combine everything, stir well and store in a shaker. Sprinkle over pork, beef and chicken.
Yield: Makes approx 2/3 cup
Jerk Seasoning
Combine all ingredients, and store in an airtight container.
Yield: Makes about 1/3 cup
Cajun Seasoning
Combine all ingredients thoroughly, and keep in an airtight container
Yield: makes approx 2/3 cup
Taco Seasoning
Combine all ingredients, blending well - store in an airtight container. Use 2 tbsp per pound of ground beef, turkey or chicken
Yield: approx 4 batches
